Welcome to my profile, potential new student! I'm an Irish-born language teacher who happened to grow up in southern Germany, thus allowing me to exhaustively experience and teach German as well as English language and culture. Alternative educational philosophies like Montessori, Steiner and Neo-humanism form the basis of my approach which is very open, focussed on the students needs and relies heavily on audio-visual learning, verbal communication and creative writing: experience tells, most of the learning happens when students begin producing their own expressions in the language they wish to learn. I am here to assist you in this exciting journey of entering a new world of words and culture, join me on this adventure! Since 2020 I’ve been teaching German online, including a long-term collaboration with Listen & Learn. I also taught children (English) at Baan Unrak Primary School in Thailand. My academic background includes a B.A. in Politics & Philosophy (Ireland) and an M.A. in Global Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin (formal completion expected Oct 2025). Working in multilingual and intercultural settings has given me the ability to explain German grammar clearly while keeping real-life communication at the center of my lessons. In our first lesson, we’ll set your goals, do a short level check, and start right away with a focused mini-lesson. You’ll leave with a clear learning path, tailored materials, and targeted feedback. The emphasis is always on you speaking German — through conversation, audio-visual input, and creative writing — so your confidence grows from the very first session.
